Town Hall event with Dr. Kem Smith: This Saturday, in conjunction with elected officials, school officials, and community members, I am hosting an Emergency Community Town Hall following the tragic shooting connected to STEAM Academy. Please understand this is not just another news story for me.

Our children deserve to learn, compete, and grow in safe environments. Our families deserve answers. Our community deserves a real conversation about school safety, youth violence, accountability, healing, and the role resources like Prop S must play in protecting students and staff.

I am inviting parents, students, community members, school leaders, elected officials, and anyone who cares about our children to come together for an honest and urgent discussion.

We will talk about:

• trauma and mental health support
• family concerns and unanswered questions
• accountability and next steps
• how Prop S connects to student safety
