MUNICIPAL ELECTION: APRIL 7, 2026
ON THE BALLOT: Candidates for local government offices like school board or city council, plus local ballot issues, such as tax or bond changes to support school or fire districts
ABSENTEE VOTING BEGINS: February 24, 2026
DEADLINE TO REGISTER TO VOTE: March 11, 2026
EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING BEGINS: March 24, 2026
PRIMARY ELECTION: AUGUST 4, 2026
ON THE BALLOT: Important statewide constitutional amendments as well as local ballot issues. Primary candidates for State Representative, State Senate, US Congress, St. Louis County Executive, St. Louis County Council, and other offices. In this election, voters who wish to choose candidates in a primary pick a ballot for one political party, and vote for candidates belonging to that party to decide which candidate from that party should go on to run in the general election in November. Voters who do not wish to take a party ballot to participate in choosing primary candidates can still vote on amendments and ballot issues.

EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING BEGINS: July 21, 2026
GENERAL ELECTION: NOVEMBER 3, 2026
ON THE BALLOT: Important statewide and local ballot issues. General election candidates for State Representative, State Senate, US Congress, St. Louis County Executive, St. Louis County Council, and other offices. This election is also called the “midterm” election because it happens in the middle of a 4 year presidential term.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER TO VOTE: October 7, 2026
EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING BEGINS: October 20, 2026
