2024 Annual Gala Awards

The annual Gala is an elegant evening of celebration for St. Louis County Democrats. Every year we recognize individuals, and sometimes organizations, making a difference in our community and strengthening our capacity to serve each other.

Over the last three years we have been at capacity of the venues hosting our event and we continue to grow. For 2024, we are planning to go big- real big. St. Louis County is home to the largest concentration of Democrats in the State of Missouri.

At this time, Democrats hold every countywide elected office and four of seven county council seats. Additionally, there are 27 state representatives elected from St. Louis County and Democrats currently hold 17 of those seats. The people of St. Louis County clearly share the values of inclusion, working families, affordable living, public amenities, and modern infrastructure.

Although those numbers are impressive, it’s the fact that St. Louis County is among the best managed local governments in the country that really makes us proud of the home team! Join us in celebrating St. Louis and show your support for the team making our community, economy, and region a great place to live.

DNC in Chicago begins.

The Democratic National Committee announced Chicago will host the 2024 Democratic National Convention at the United Center from August 19 to 22. The DNC is returning to the Midwest, a critical Democratic stronghold: Illinois along with Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota – part of the “blue wall” – were crucial to the 2020 victory of President Biden and Vice President Harris and to Democrats’ success in the 2022 midterm elections.

“Chicago is a great choice to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention,”said President Joe Biden. “Democrats will gather to showcase our historic progress including building an economy from the middle out and bottom up, not from the top down. From repairing our roads and bridges, to unleashing a manufacturing boom, and creating over 12.5 million new good-paying jobs, we’ve already delivered so much for hard working Americans – now it’s time to finish the job.”

Presidential Primary in North County

The Presidential Primary is our opportunity to help choose the Democratic Party nominee. It is also the first step in the delegate selection process where Delegates nominate and vote on our Party’s nominee.

In 2022, Missouri Republicans placed the burden of presidential selection on the state parties. That failure to support civic engagement led to the Republican Caucuses having less that 1000 participants in 2024.

Democrats chose a hybrid of mail in voting, where ballots could be requested up to March 12, and in person voting on March 23. Mail in ballots must be received by 10:00 am on Saturday March 23 in order to be counted.

Registered voters who are not Registered Republicans or participants in the 2024 Republican Caucus may receive a ballot in the Democratic Primary. there are five in person locations to choose from and all locations can be found HERE.
