BALLOT ISSUES - NOVEMBER 2026 ELECTION
Several important issues will be on the November 2026 ballot in Missouri. The St. Louis County Democratic Party has made the following recommendations on how to vote:
PROPOSITION A
VOTE NO to prevent a gerrymandered Congressional map from taking effect!
PROPOSITION A puts a heavily gerrymandered Congressional district map created by politicians up for a vote of the people. This map was created entirely outside our usual legal process for drawing Congressional District maps. The People Not Politicians petition succeeded in pausing this map and putting it on the November ballot to let the voters of Missouri decide whether to let it go into effect.
A NO vote stops this unfair new map from going into effect.
AMENDMENT 3
VOTE NO to protect reproductive freedom and stop a new abortion ban!
AMENDMENT 3 would overturn the constitutional right to reproductive freedom that Missouri voters overwhelmingly approved in 2024 and allow politicians to impose a new abortion ban. Missouri voters already spoke up loud and clear to tell politicians we want them out of our reproductive health care decisions.
A NO vote stops Republican legislators from overturning the will of the people to reinstate an abortion ban.
AMENDMENT 6
VOTE YES to FINALLY stop Missouri politicians from overturning the will of Missouri voters!
AMENDMENT 6, placed on the ballot after thousands of Missourians signed the Respect Missouri Voters petition, would protect Missouri’s initiative petition process and make it much harder for politicians to overturn the will of Missouri voters as they have repeatedly done in the past.
A YES vote protects the rights of Missouri voters and prevents politicians from overturning our votes.
AMENDMENT 7
VOTE NO to prevent politicians from spending money without oversight.
AMENDMENT 7 would create an endowment fund for the state, but it is unclear where the money would come from or how it would be spent and there would be limited oversight of how politicians can use the money in the fund. They might choose to spend it on different programs than voters voted for.
A NO vote prevents potential misuse of government funds.
AMENDMENT 8
VOTE NO to protect local control of law enforcement!
AMENDMENT 8 would make it much harder for communities to remove Sheriffs from office, undermining local control of law enforcement.
A NO vote protects citizen oversight of law enforcement.
