Leading the NAACP as President for over five years, John Bowman's focus has been on strategic leadership and advocacy, driving impactful community initiatives and fostering strong partnerships. In John’s words, “It’s very simple; it’s not reinventing the wheel — it’s addressing discrimination, creating equitable opportunities for all people.”

In addition to leading the STL County NAACP, Mr. Bowman has served our community and state in several different capacities over the years, including Alderman for the City of Northwoods and State Representative for MO House District 70, where he served as the Chair for the MO Legislative Black Caucus.
